About Us
So a little about us!
Well i,ve always had rescue dogs, but the newest member of my family, (image above) LOVELY as she is, came with many challenges.
Arriving at rescue as an emergency found by police, early hours, wandering the Suffolk/Essex borders, she was in need of a calm/safe home. Estimated at approx 9/10months she was extremely frightened/anxious of everything, no training, no socialization, and in the adolescence period but with two older male sighthounds to help her, we welcomed her.
It took patience, work and tears with many mishaps on the way, but today she is happy, confident and tho we still have small areas of work to do, I am so happy we found each other and this experience is what led me down this path.
My others, Animal reactive German Shepherd who ended up an off lead dog and sleeping with our cat. Sandy(red collie/retriever) who we raised from rescue as a pup. Socks, rescued from Greyhound rescue, needed to adapt to a home enviroment and basic training and Chewy who as name suggests was once a destructive chewer due to anxiety, although he never exhibited this tendency for me, but is still my shadow.
Dog training is so rewarding for you both if done gently and at a pace your dog is comfortable with and where there is NO getting it wrong, just praise when we offer a behaviour thats better.
Sometimes you feel like a failure, that you have taken on too much, you can,t help this dog or you dont have the knowledge but i,m here to encourage, support and tell you that "hey, we,ve all been there at some point".
This is where our future and our bond with our dog changes forever and for the better.
